In part, continuing Patrick O’Malley’s focus last month on music for the musette, Lisette will lead our April Meeting in duos by Boismortier and Chèdeville, two French composers who also wrote for the instrument. To that, we add duets by Jacques (James) Paisible, a French transplant who settled in London. The levity and gravement of these duos provide a point of departure for work on articulation and technique as well as musical style and expression. You’ll have the opportunity to play the same part with Lisette, the alternate duet line, or both (as there will be time to switch parts)!
If you would like to participate, just send a note using the Contact Us option on this website, and we’ll respond with the Zoom sign in information and the website resource password.
All the music featured in March is now available this website, here.
Hope to see you on April 18th!
