Join us for a scary good time at our October meeting!

Join us for our next meeting on October 19th, when Gail Gillispie will direct us in works by Arcadelt and Verdelot, and present a survey of the works of Vincenzo Ruffo (c. 1508 – 1587), an Italian priest and influential composer during the Counter Reformation. Gail, a performer of early music on lute, recorder and voice, will also review info about methods for transcribing music from 16th century notation, and how Renaissance composers used pre-existing chansons and madrigals to create new works. Music downloads for the meeting are now available on this website (here).

More music playing will follow at 4 PM, after Gail’s program. See you on the 19th!
