About the Chicago Recorder Society
The purpose of the Chicago Recorder Society is to enhance the knowledge, appreciation, and playing of recorders and recorder music in the greater Chicago area.
The Chicago Recorder Society is open to anyone, regardless of musical training, who wants to cultivate and sponsor love and appreciation of the art, history and use of the recorder and related instruments. Our meetings, programs and publications help members to come together and to find others with similar interests.

- Raise the quality and availability of published music,
- Inform recorder players and friends of the recorder about relevant literature, developments, and activities,
- Support recorder playing as a shared social experience in the local community of recorder players and other interested musicians, and
- Inform and educate the public.
