From Lisette Kielson:
You know the scoop for the 18th:
ensemble performances and then our last rehearsal of the season–but not our last meeting!
As you read in Mark’s Newsletter, we’ll meet one more time this season on June 21st for our performance in Make Music Chicago (details in the Newsletter)!

Everyone is welcome(!) even if you’re not playing w/ us on the 21st.
Those who are performing, please set up in the front row–thanks!

For our March 16 meeting, join us at the Oak Park Public Library, 834 West Lake Street, as part of the Play the Recorder Month. We will gather in the lobby, starting at 2 PM, and Lisette will lead an open rehearsal. You can take the L to Oak Park Avenue and walk a few blocks, or walk from the Metra stop in Oak Park. Parking is readily available.
We had a very successful workshop at the University of Chicago Folk Festival. Lisette Kielson lead some of our members in a demonstration performance. Then we went out in the audience and assisted budding new recorder players in how to play the tunes in the Shake and Jake books!

Thanks again to Lisette for leading the workshop and to Mark Dawson for helping to sponsor it.
The West Suburban Early Music Society is presenting a workshop with Vickie Boeckman on March 29th, 2014 in Naperville. Entitled ‘Around The World in One Afternoon’ it is for players of the the recorders and strings (gambas, violins, cello, rebec, etc.).
In great demand as a teacher of the recorder and related performance practices, Vicki coaches and teaches at workshops and seminars all over the country. Her travels and performances have taken her across the United States as well as Canada, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, England, Scotland and Germany.
Follow the link below for details.
